The New Media program is highly organized and structured to ensure the best possible results on behalf of our students. All listed prerequisites for each course are required. Each course is designed to assume thorough skills and experience accrued in previous New Media department courses. Prerequisite design and production skill sets are expected to be retained and applied in all assignments, which are evaluated and graded on this basis.
Waivers or concurrencies may be granted only upon submission of work produced which achieves the equivalent level expected at the end of all prerequisite courses.
This course emphasizes the importance of typography in the design process and focuses on providing students with the digital tools and techniques necessary to achieve professional typographic solutions. Students will learn to incorporate the principles of typography with the essential technical skills necessary to achieve compelling typographic aesthetics in new media design and production disciplines.
